Before starting FiddleSmart Marketing, I spent 25 years in the system managing marketing campaigns, product lines, and entire business units. Including serving as President and General Manager of Nancy's Notions, a nearly $20-million direct-to-consumer retailer with over 100 employees during the time I worked there. I've also held marketing leadership roles at The Franklin Mint and even earned my "Ducktorate Degree in Disney - Management Style" during a summer at Disney, where I learned the power of creating remarkable customer experiences.
But here's what really matters: I understand the transition from team member to independent business owner because I've lived it. When my position was eliminated, I realized my purpose wasn't helping bigger companies make more money. My purpose was leveling the playing field for smaller businesses who couldn't afford full-time marketing teams or large agency budgets—and simplifying marketing so the business of building a business remains manageable.

Throughout my career, I had seen both the power of good marketing and the damage caused by manipulative, overhyped tactics. I knew there was a better way: a values-aligned, long-term approach that puts the customer experience first.
So I took the leap. And discovered my purpose: helping entrepreneurs build successful businesses without compromising who they are—or burning out.
My gift for pattern recognition has shaped my entire career. Even as a child, I noticed details others missed. That ability now helps me quickly identify core issues, understand what’s preventing growth, and simplify complexity so clients can move forward with confidence.
If I were starting my business today, I’d focus on building an audience from day one. Consistent sharing creates clarity. Each question, comment, or “that’s exactly me” moment teaches you what your audience truly needs.
I wouldn’t wait until everything was perfect. I’d start—even imperfectly. Clarity comes from doing.
