I focus on two things: helping individual leaders advance their careers, and helping them create what I call a Culture of Ownership where their team takes initiative, thinks for themselves, and delivers without constant oversight.
My approach is built on four pillars: trust, coaching, delegation, and managing conflict. Most leadership training treats these as separate skills. I treat them as interconnected because they are. I also work with clients over time, becoming a partner in their success rather than a one and done trainer.
Some things give you energy and some things take it away. In my corporate career, I noticed that helping others succeed was what energized me most. I treated that as my north star, building the skills to do it well and eventually starting my own business so I could do it full time. I get to do what I'm passionate about every day, and it's incredibly rewarding.
Getting specific about what I do. Early on, I tried to be everything to everyone. The turning point was narrowing my focus so that someone could hear what I do and immediately know whether I'm worth a conversation or not what they need. That clarity made all the difference.
Clarity. Before tactics, before marketing, before anything else, get crystal clear on who you serve and the specific problem you solve. I had to learn that lesson myself, and it's now something I help my clients with. One of them told me that our work on his value proposition shifted him from feeling like he was surviving project to project to building something sustainable with clarity, control, and confidence.
Get specific on what you do so someone can see right away whether you're a fit worth engaging with or not what they need. Trying to appeal to everyone means resonating with no one.
