THE CREATIVE PROCESS
Kyle reached out because his personal style had evolved and his website was being updated. He didn’t just want new headshots. He wanted images that reflected how he actually works with clients: confident but warm, professional but approachable.
Together, we planned a strategic shot list that included full-length portraits, executive working images, presentation scenarios, and collaborative leadership moments. We photographed the session in my Milwaukee studio, creating a range of images Kyle can use across his website, LinkedIn, email marketing, and other professional platforms.

MEET KYLE
I'm Kyle Buerger, owner of KB Breakthrough Consulting. I help leaders get to the next level in their careers and build teams that take real ownership. After 20+ years in corporate leadership roles, I launched my consulting practice to focus on what I saw missing in most leadership development: practical strategies that actually work, not theory that sounds good in a workshop but falls apart on Monday morning.
I also teach strategy, ethics, and negotiation at UW-Milwaukee and MSOE. Whether I'm coaching an executive one on one, facilitating a workshop, or in a classroom, the through line is the same: helping people lead in a way that gets results and brings out the best in their teams.

WHAT KYLE DOES
I focus on two things: helping individual leaders advance their careers, and helping them create what I call a Culture of Ownership where their team takes initiative, thinks for themselves, and delivers without constant oversight.
My approach is built on four pillars: trust, coaching, delegation, and managing conflict. Most leadership training treats these as separate skills. I treat them as interconnected because they are. I also work with clients over time, becoming a partner in their success rather than a one and done trainer.
INSPIRATION
Some things give you energy and some things take it away. In my corporate career, I noticed that helping others succeed was what energized me most. I treated that as my north star, building the skills to do it well and eventually starting my own business so I could do it full time. I get to do what I'm passionate about every day, and it's incredibly rewarding.
GROWTH
Getting specific about what I do. Early on, I tried to be everything to everyone. The turning point was narrowing my focus so that someone could hear what I do and immediately know whether I'm worth a conversation or not what they need. That clarity made all the difference.
STARTING OVER
Clarity. Before tactics, before marketing, before anything else, get crystal clear on who you serve and the specific problem you solve. I had to learn that lesson myself, and it's now something I help my clients with. One of them told me that our work on his value proposition shifted him from feeling like he was surviving project to project to building something sustainable with clarity, control, and confidence.
BEST ADVICE
Get specific on what you do so someone can see right away whether you're a fit worth engaging with or not what they need. Trying to appeal to everyone means resonating with no one.
